Suffolk Bull Moose Women vs. Lehigh 04-13-2013

 

It was another beautiful day of rugby, as Bull Moose took on Lehigh Valley at their home pitch, Heckscher State Park. The temperature was in the 60s, the sun was shining, and there was only a slight wind, perfect rugby conditions. Lehigh took the quick lead in the game scoring their first try in the first 10 minutes. In Bull Moose fashion, Bull Moose used quick passing and ball handling to get the ball to Alex Mostrom, who broke through Lehigh’s defensive line to score a try. Alex also made the conversion kick. With Lehigh putting on a strong defense, Bull Moose was able to push through and crash the ball to the try line. Ilana Aramati then broke a tackle bring the ball across the try line to score. Lehigh broke past Bull Moose defense one more time, scoring a try and ending the first half.

Bull Moose started off the second half strong. Using what they learned in practice, they were able to overload Lehigh, getting the ball to Carla Guerrero who, with a 20 meter break away, scored her first try. Alex made the conversion. Lehigh was able to score one more try against Bull Moose. With flat line defense, teamwork, and great ball handling, Bull Moose was victorious against Lehigh with a final score of 19-15.
