Suffolk Bull Moose Men in Four Leaf Tournament

Suffolk Bull Moose Men in Four Leaf Tournament

It’s was a cold but nice day at Four Leaf 15s Tournament in Randall’s Island. The Suffolk Men went to Four Leaf in high spirits despite the weather. They had high numbers as more than 20 men went ready to play.

Their first game was against NYPD rugby club bright and early at 8:00am. The men scored six tries against NYPD. The first try was scored by James Frost and the conversion kick was done by Matthew Reilly who did particularly well. Next up Dom Smash, Jeff Krabelom, Tom, Ryan Frozer, and Yue-Houng Hu all scored and the scrum-half Matthew Reilly made three out of five conversion kicks. Overall it was a good game for the Suffolk Men as they won 38-5.

The Suffolk Men’s second game was against Washington at 10:30am. The men played hard and scored one try against Washington thanks to the very skilled Tom. Matthew Reily obtained the conversion points.  Although it was a well played game, Washington won with 19 points. Final score was 7-19.

Unfortunately the last match of the Four Leaf 15s Tournament was against Seton Hall who forfeited the game. The Suffolk men were very disappointed as they were looking forward to playing after a winter without rugby. Due to the forfeit the Suffolk men were not able to obtain the points needed to continue on in the tournament.

Special thanks to Nick Calandra who worked extremely hard on the match report.
